Yannis Adamakis was born in 1959. He studied at ASOEE and at the same time studied painting. His work is anonymous at first, but in the process the human form dominates, which he represents with acrylic paints and collages. Contrasts are often found in his works, for example in the use of white-black or in the use of cold-hot colours. In the course of his artistic activity he has enriched the themes of his works, the most recent being seascapes and depictions of ships. He has presented his work in more than thirty-five solo exhibitions as well as in a multitude of group exhibitions in Greece, Belgium, France, Germany, Cyprus, Norway, Poland, Russia, Turkey and others. He lives and works in Athens.
