Georgia Damopoulou was born in 1969 in Athens. She initially studied French literature (1987-1991) and studied set design at the L. Stavrakos Film School (1988-1990). In the period 1991-1996 she studied painting with T. Patraskidis and set design with G. Damopoulos. Then she studied at the École Nationale de Beaux-Arts de Bourges in France (1997) and in the period 2004-2006 she studied at the École Nationale de Beaux-Arts de Bourges in France (1997). Since 1997 she is the artistic director of the Art Workshops of the Municipality of Korydallos. She has taught in the workshop of visual expression in the Adolescent Unit Atrapos of the OKANA (2008-2017), in the Postgraduate Program of Panteion University and in the H' Workshop of ASKT. Since 1995 she has been exhibiting her work in solo exhibitions mainly in Greece, while she has participated in a number of group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, among them: Theorimata 2 (EMST, 2020), Apocalypsis (Galerie Ehmer, 2016), 1st Ecorea Jeonbuk International Art (Biennale Korea, 2012), Babel (Musee Ianchelvici, La Louviere, Bruxelles 2009), 1st Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art Heterotopias (Thessaloniki 2007), etc. She lives and works in Athens.
