Ersi Chatziargyrou was born in 1951 in Athens, where she initially studied at the Athens Technological Institute with D. Mytaras (1970-1973), then moved to Paris, where she studied stained glass at the École Superieure des Arts et Metiers (1976-1979), while she also attended drawing and lithography courses at the École des Beaux Arts, from which she graduated in 1982. She remained in Paris until her permanent return and settlement in Greece in 1987. In her early works, her interest focused on mixed techniques, which combine painting and collage, allowing her to introduce materials from everyday life, such as newspaper clippings, magazine images, etc., into her works. Gradually, however, she turns to more abstract compositions, abandoning two-dimensional surfaces and incorporating wire mesh into her works, which on the one hand is the starting point for the shift in a more conceptual direction in her career, but on the other hand leads her to works that are now developed in three dimensions, while she then creates installations and environments with transparent and natural materials. Geometric forms dominate her work with the square, cube and pyramidal forms prominent. He has held four solo exhibitions in Athens and participated in group exhibitions in various cities in Greece and Europe. In 2001 he represented Greece, together with Nikos Navridis and Ilias Papailakis, at the Venice Biennale, in 2002 at the 2nd Buenos Aires Biennale, while in 2005 he participated in the International Biennale of Sport and Art, at the Imperial Shipyards of Seville.
