Marina Maravelaki was born in 1966 in Athina. She studied drawing and painting at the Academie Royale des Beaux-Arts (1985-1990) with Deny Vienne, did postgraduate studies at Tulane University in New Orleans, USA and on her return to Greece she studied printmaking at the A.S.K.T. with Th. Exarchopoulos, I. Papadakis and G. Papadakis. I. Pafadakis, who was taught by I. Pachapakis and I. Milio. She specialized in lithography at the Tamarind Institute in Albuquerque, USA and in 2002 she obtained a Master's degree in art education in schools and museums from Tufts University in Boston. She lives and works as a visual arts teacher at the Gerakas Art School.
