Kalliroi Marouda was born in 1956 in Zakynthos. She studied architectural design at the Doxiadis School (1977-1978) and then painting and set design at the A.S.K.T. with teachers T. Patraskidis, D. Mytaras, V. D. Matrasas, D. Vassiliadis, D. Vassiliadis. The subject matter of her works, mainly anthropocentric, also includes depictions of landscapes, animals (dogs), etc. Her most recent works are dominated by the female figure, which she depicts naked or semi-naked in undefined spaces, which are not defined and which dominate the compositions with their simplicity. She also worked in stage design and collaborated with the National Theatre in various performances. She held her first solo exhibition in 1991 at the "Ora" Artistic Cultural Centre, followed by a series of solo exhibitions in various cities in Greece, as well as group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She lives and works in Athens.
