George Mavridis was born in 1969 in Kavala. He studied painting at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Brussels (1991-1996), from which he graduated with honours, and in the same year he attended screen printing courses at the Academy of Drawing and Decorative Arts of Watermael-Boitsfort. In the period 1966-1997 he attended the seminar "Experimental Practices" at the School of Fine Arts in Braine-L'Alleud, Belgium. His work, mainly anthropomorphic, combines figurative and abstract elements. The expressionistic character of the colours is evident, which are rich and bright, often violent, and highlight the subjects of the compositions. He has presented his work in solo exhibitions in Belgium, Spain, Greece, etc. Gallery Art Gaspar (Barcelona 2003), ARTVG 2002 (Santiago de Compostela), Centre for Contemporary Art (Larissa 2001), Gallery Louis Schmidt (Brussels 1994), etc.
