Kyrillos Sarris was born in 1950 in Nicosia, Cyprus in 1950. He took his first painting lessons from the Cypriot painters Lefteris Economou and Telemachos Kanthos (1963-1969). He studied medicine at the University of Athens (1970-1976). He presented his work in a solo exhibition for the first time in 1986 at the Nees Morfes Art Gallery entitled "Notes", followed by a series of solo exhibitions and participations in group exhibitions in Greece, Cyprus, France and Germany, as well as in visual poetry exhibitions. His activity as an artist and theorist also extends to the field of publishing, with editing, introductory texts and visual arrangements of books. He has edited books: Marcel Duchamp, The Engineer of Lost Time (1989 and 2008), Art in the Age of Stakes by Nicolas Callas (1997), Bernier Gallery (1998), etc. He has also lectured at universities and published essays on art. He lived and worked as a medical oncologist in Athens. He died in 2024.
