Emmanuel Bitsakis was born in 1974 in Athens. He initially studied at the Vakalo School (1991-1194) and at the Department of Philosophy, Pedagogy and Psychology of the Hellenic University of Athens. He continued his studies at the A.S.C.T. of Athens with Chronis Botsoglou (1996-2001) and after graduating with a scholarship from the Danish Institute, he stayed in Copenhagen for two months for free artistic work. He has presented his work in eight solo exhibitions in Athens, London and Brussels and participated in art fairs and group exhibitions in Greece and internationally. His work has been shown in museums such as the Drawing Center in New York (Small, 2014), the National Portrait Gallery in London (BP Portrait Award 2007 and 2008), the Complesso del Vittoriano in Rome (Ellenico Plurale, 2012) and the Benaki Museum in Athens (New Forms 50 Years Later, 2010). He lives and works in Athens. He has been awarded in national and international painting competitions and has presented his work in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. He lives and works in Greece.
