Αριστείδης ΠατσόγλουAristides Patsoglou was born in 1941 in Lesvos. Initially he took his first lessons in painting and drawing at the side of Th. He studied sculpture at the A.S.K.T. under the tutelage of G. Aparte (1962-1965). He continued his studies in Paris, at the École Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts, with the sculptors Cesar and Collamarini and the engravers Robert Cami and Jacques Lagrange (1970-1974). He also studied at the University of Paris VIII, where he took courses in plastic arts, art sciences and audiovisual techniques (1974-1979). He was mainly involved in sculpture and his themes were anthropocentric, drawing his subjects from ancient Greek mythology and contemporary life in order to highlight issues such as identity, femininity, inner dialogues, the relationship between the individual and the social self. He has presented his work in more than sixty solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad, while he has also participated in numerous group exhibitions and international events.
