Konstantin Aleksandrovich Vialov (Vyalov) (Moscow, April 6th, 1900- Moscow, July 12th, 1976) attended from 1914 to 1917 the Stroganov Art and Industry Institute in Moscow, where he specialized in textile design. He continued his studies at the Free State Art Studios (SVOMAS) in Moscow (1918-1920) and afterwards at the Higher State Art-Technical Studios (VKHUTEMAS) under Lentulov, Morgunov and Kandinsky (1920-1924). He was a member of the Concretivist group and participated in the First Discussional Exhibition of Active Revolutionary Art (Moscow, 1924). In 1925 he became a member of the Society of Studio Artists (OST) and participated in various exhibitions (1925-1928). He worked as a stage designer and contributed to productions, such as Vasilii Kamenskii’s Stenka Razin in 1924. He was also a poster designer and book illustrator. By the end of the 1920s he started focusing on landscape painting. During the period 1930 - 1950 he evolved into a preminent marine painter.
