Μ. ΈντερMaria Vladimirovna Ender (Petersburg, 1897 - Leningrad, 1942), the daughter of a gardener, met Mikhail Matyushin in 1916 and later studied at the Space Realism Workshops at the Free State Art Workshops (SVOMAS) of Petersburg with him as a teacher (1918-1922). ). In 1923 he became a member of the Museum of Painting Education in Petersburg and participated in the Painting Exhibition of all tendencies of the artists of Petersburg. In 1924 he took part in the 14th Venice Biennale. During the period 1925-1926 she worked at the Department of Organic Education of the State Institute of Art Education (GINHOOK), as the director of the Form-Color Perception Laboratory, while during the period 1930-1932 she taught colour theory at the Institute of Proletarian Visual Art in Leningrad. In 1932 he assisted Matyushin in writing his study The Rules of Variability of Color Combinations: A Color Manual. In the 1930s he continued to deal with the problems of colour in architecture. She participated with her brother Boris in the color decorations of the Soviet pavilions at the World Expositions in Paris (1937) and New York (1939).
