Hands up

Hermann Pitz was born in 1956 in Oldenburg, Germany. He completed his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in painting at the Hochschule der Bildenden Künste in West Berlin (b. 1980). His artistic practice includes sculpture, architecture, photography and installations, and his work often repeats themes that overlap or mutually extend each other: reflections in mirrors, light sources that create optical illusions, objects that, because of their shape, hollow and curved, prompt the viewer to reflect on his perception of reality. He lives and works in Munich.
