Dimitris Fragakis was born in Thessaloniki in 1982. In 2006 he graduated from the Department of Mechanical Engineering of the Technical University of Kavala and in 2009 he entered the Department of Visual and Applied Arts of the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, graduating in 2014. He works with a wide range of techniques and media creating drawings, paintings, sculptures and digital print works. He draws his subjects and part of his produced images from his personal collection of photographs and objects, as well as from images from old magazines, newspapers and online remnants to create usually series of works, where one work influences the other and vice versa. He has presented his work in solo exhibitions in Athens and Thessaloniki, and has participated in group exhibitions in museums, galleries and art spaces: "The Vision of Saint Void", Depo Darm Gallery, (Athens 2017), "The Root", Thessaloniki Museum of Photography (2017), "Fantastic Hearths", 6th Thessaloniki Biennale of Contemporary Art, State Museum of Contemporary Art, Thessaloniki (2017), "Aristotelous Project 2", Kalfayan Galleries, Thessaloniki (2016), "TimEffect", Depo Darm Gallery, Athens (2015), etc. He lives and works in Athens and Thessaloniki.
