Φωτεινή ΓουσέτηFotini Gousseti was born in 1974 in Athens. She studied painting and printmaking at the Athens School of Fine Arts (5th workshop and 2nd workshop respectively) and then completed postgraduate studies at the Dutch Art Institute in Arnhem, the Netherlands. She is a PhD candidate at the Department of History, Archaeology and Social Anthropology of the University of Thessaly. Gouseti's artistic practice and academic research explores the role of art in society. She is particularly interested in the ways in which society reacts and evolves in the face of collective trauma, focusing on issues such as divided memory, gender and class. She has curated the performance event Renkonto. In recent years she has been developing the research performances The Present as a Result of the Past and The Least Wanted Travel the Most as well as the Mauro Fiumano project. He lives and works in Rotterdam and Athens.
