Takis Zerdevas was born in 1945 in Patras. He studied economics at the University of Piraeus (1965-1967) and graphic arts at the Doxiadis School (196601968) and then settled in Paris, where he worked mainly in photography. After a successful stint in professional advertising photography both in Paris and Athens, he taught photography at the Vakalo School (1980-1984) and in 1985 he founded the "FOCUS" school of photography, video and new technologies. His artistic practice manifested itself initially through photography and then through video and installations. At the same time he was involved in contemporary music, composing music for theatre performances and films and participating in electronic music festivals. His solo exhibitions have been presented in Greece and other European countries (France, Italy, Slovakia, etc.), while he has participated in many group exhibitions of photography in Athens, Thessaloniki, Brussels, Genoa, etc. He also participated in the Thessaloniki International Fair in 1998 with an audiovisual installation and in 2004 he presented, in collaboration with Makis Faros, the interactive installation "Tavern" in the context of the Athens Olympic Games.
