In the rhythm of Trace I

Maria Kompatsiari was born in 1952 in Kolindros, Pieria. She studied at the School of Pharmacy of the National Kapodistrian University of Athens and then studied drawing and colour in a preparatory workshop, as well as engraving and lithography at the "Helios" Engraving Centre in Thessaloniki. Her work, multifaceted, has evolved gradually: from her early paintings, which are mainly figurative compositions, she progressed to a personal idiom, abstract, while then moving to three dimensions and composing light boxes and installations. She has presented her work in solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad and her works are in private, public collections and museums.
