Ιωάννα ΡάλληIoanna Ralli was born in 1960. She studied at the College for the Distributive Trades in London (1978-1980), while from 1980-1986 she studied at Boston University and the New England School of Art and Design, where she graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Communication and a Master's degree in Graphic Arts. After completing her studies, she returned from America and worked as a graphic designer for various magazines, while also teaching at Southeastern University and Campus College in Athens. Her primary medium of expression is photography, through which she insightfully records forms, situations, and events related to her personal experiences through a special relationship with people and their social environment. Her work is predominantly anthropocentric with frequent references to female nature, but there is also no lack of still lifes or images of wider spaces, compositions which she renders sometimes with a vividness and sometimes with an abstract aesthetic. Her most recent work is inspired by the dreamlike and symbolic world of the unconscious. She has presented her work in ten solo exhibitions in Athens, Thessaloniki and Corfu and has participated in many group exhibitions in Greece and abroad. She lives and works in Athens.
