Hourglass

Nikos Giannopoulos was born in 1952 in Thessaloniki. He studied architecture at the School of Fine Arts in Paris (1970-1973), as well as pedagogy (1976) and cinema (1976-1977). Since 1976 he has worked as a director, producer and scriptwriter in film and television. He has produced or co-produced, directed and written numerous feature and short films, television series, documentaries and artistic programmes. He has been involved in video art since 1983 as well as writing children's books. He took part in many group exhibitions and festivals, even organising some of them. Among other things, he has been in charge of the E.S.T.T. (European Meeting for the Arts/New Technologies) since 1988.
