Λέα ΡουσοπούλουLea Roussopoulou was born in 1949 in Athens. She attended classes at the workshop of Panos Sarafianos (1966-67) in Athens and then studied graphic arts at the École Superieure des Arts Modernes and painting at the Academie Goeutz in Paris (1967-69), as well as painting and stained glass at the Central School of Art and Design in London (1969-72). In 1984-1987 he attended ceramics seminars at the HEN. Since 1989 he has been teaching stained glass at the Department of Further Education of the College of Athens. The main body of her work is stained glass, but she has also created a series of works in which she uses metal and glass as structural elements, attributing additional painterly values to glass. Her works are notable for their geometric vocabulary as well as for their influences from Islamic art. She has presented her work in solo exhibitions in Greece and abroad, beginning in 1969 at the Galerie F. Besnard in Paris, while her participation in group exhibitions in Greece and abroad has been extensive.
