Pino Pascali
Pino Pascali was born in 1935 in Bari, Italy. In 1959, he graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome, where he lived until his untimely death in 1968. He is one of the most important figures in post-war Italian art. With various influences from different art movements and a background in scenography, he developed a personal visual language that can be described as a journey through the experiences of contemporary art through a visionary and magical perception of art.
From 1965 until his death, his work was presented in nine solo exhibitions in significant galleries in Rome, Venice, Milan, and Paris. He also participated in numerous group exhibitions. In 1968 and while he was still alive, he took part in the Venice Biennale, and after his death, he was awarded the Grand Prix. Many solo exhibitions have been organised after his death, and his work is showcased in international centres and major international group exhibitions.
