Antonina Sofronova was born in 1892 in Droskovo. She initially studied at the Commercial School in Kiev and in 1910, moved to Moscow, where she attended classes first in Fyodor Rerberg's workshop and later alongside Ilya Mashkov. She also taught at the State Art Workshops in Tver and was involved in illustrating magazines, books and newspapers while drawing posters. She participated in exhibitions such as "Valeo Caro" (1914), "The World of Art" (1917), the "International Exhibition of Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris" (1925) and the "Exhibition of Artists of the RSFSR from the Last Fifteen Years" (1933).
In the early 1920s, her artworks were primarily Constructivist, but in the mid-1920s and the 1930s, she shifted her focus to representational painting, creating mainly landscapes and portraits.
