Suprematism
Kliment RedkoKliment Nikolaevich Redko was born in 1897 in Chełm, Poland, and enrolled in the Icon Painting School of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra in 1910, under A. Chizhevskii. In the years 1914-1915, he attended courses at the School of the Society for the Advancement of the Arts in Petrograd. After his retirement in 1918, he settled in Kyiv, Ukraine, where he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts and helped decorate the city for the celebration of the revolution.
Later, he moved to Moscow and studied at the Higher State Artistic and Technical Workshops (VKhUTEMAS). He was one of the founders of the "Electroorganism" manifesto and later the "Projection" movement. For a period of eight years (1927-1935), he lived in Paris and was a member of a group of Ukrainian artists and the "Union of Revolutionary Artists of France". In 1935, he returned to Moscow, where he continued to paint and lived there until his death in 1956.
