Aleksei Alekseevich Morgunov was born in 1884 in Moscow.
In 1899 he began his studies at the Strogonov School of Fine Arts in Moscow, but he also attended classes in the workshops of Konstantin Korovin and Sergey Ivanov. In 1904 he was admitted to the Moscow Artists' Union and began participating in its exhibitions. In the period 1909-1910 he traveled to Western Europe and was influenced by the Impressionist movement. His acquaintance with Kazimir Malevich and Ivan Kliun was a catalyst for his further growth and artistic development. He taught at the Free State Artistic Workshops (SBOMAS) and received days in the exhibitions of "Valet Caro", "Tail of the Donkey", "Art World" and "Youth Union". Furthermore, he collaborated with the newspaper Anarchy and became a member of the Moscow IZO Narkobros.
He died in 1935 in Moscow.
