Thanos Tzovarides, a self-taught sculptor, studied dentistry in France and was involved in design in Scandinavia. Initially, he settled with his wife, painter and sculptor M. Tzovaridou, in Halkidiki (1964-1969). However, from 1970 onward, they moved to Thessaloniki and engaged in ceramics, creating a series of fully modeled and bas-relief works that fall within the realm of geometric abstraction. During the period 1977-78, he studied metal processing and casting techniques at the F.A. Museum workshops in Houston, USA. He also delved into theoretical art topics and was a permanent collaborator with the art space "Artistic Proposals" in Thessaloniki.
