Στάσις 4

Η ζωγραφική σύνθεση «Στάσις 4» κινείται στο κλίμα ενός προσωπικού εξπρεσιονισμού, όπου αποτυπώνονται οι εσωτερικές του αναζητήσεις και ανησυχίες μέσω της έντασης του χρώματος και των παραμορφώσεων. Με αφετηρία την παραμορφωμένη και αποσπασματική ανθρώπινη μορφή, τον ακαθόριστο χώρο και τη «βιαιότητα» του χρώματος προβάλλει έναν κόσμο εσωτερικών συγκρούσεων με δραματικές περισσότερο προεκτάσεις. Ο τρόπος μάλιστα απόδοσης των προσώπων των μορφών μαρτυρούν ψυχογραφικά στοιχεία.

Kostis Georgiou was born in Thessaloniki in 1956. He studied painting with D. Mytaras and D. Kokkinidis and sculpture in the studio of Th. Panourgias' workshop at the Athens School of Fine Arts (1982-1986), followed by postgraduate studies at the Royal College of Fine Arts in London. He has also attended courses in stage design in Florence.
His work, both in painting and sculpture, bears similarities and operates within a similar framework: intense colour, human and animal figures, large sizes and distorting elements predominate. He has been presented in solo and group exhibitions in Greece and abroad, has been honoured with awards and has represented Greece in international exhibitions.
