Lisa Hoever was born in Münster, Germany in 1952. She studied at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf with Rolf Sackenheim and Alfonso Hüppi and was a lecturer at the Hochschule der Künste Bern HKB for several years. Since the late 1970s, she has exhibited regularly at home and abroad and in 2008 a major retrospective of her work was held at the Kunstmuseum Winterthur. She has lived and worked in Bern since 1988. A painter par excellence, she works in oil, watercolour and mixed media on canvas and paper. Her works create their own realities as she creates compositions that arise from the idea of a doubling, from the mirroring of an object or form, from lines and dots, from collaborations and contrasts. In terms of execution, he often often abandons figuration in favour of colour and form.
