Theodolos (Gregoriou) was born in 1956 in Malounta, Nicosia. He studied at the Institut de Arte Plastice N. Grigorescu in Bucharest (1976-81) on a scholarship from U.N.E.S.C.O. He continued his studies at the Cité Internationale des Arts and at the École des Beaux-Arts, as a scholarship holder of the French state ("Prix Matisse", 1986-1987). In 1993 he founded the Cité Internationale des Arts and the École des Beaux-Arts with the architect Gr. In 1993 he founded the Hourglass, a workshop for free dialogue on art and architecture, with the architect G. Patsalosavvi. In 2020 he was elected Corresponding Member of the Cyprus Academy of Arts and Letters. His artistic practice includes a wide range of techniques and media: sculpture, painting, installations, video. He creates installations, which move within the ideological and morphological framework of various movements, such as conceptual art, Land art, minimalism, without being clearly integrated into any of them. He made a series of large-scale works for public spaces: in 1984 he constructed the Dome-Metra in the Contemporary Art Park of Nicosia (competition organized by the Municipality), in 1990 the Phaistos Disc for the 2nd International Art Symposium in Agios Nikolaos, Crete (Minos Beach) and in 1994 the Navel for the International Sculpture Symposium in Delphi. His participation in the 1990 Venice Biennale (Aperto 1990) marked the beginning of his presence on the international art scene and in 1997 he represented Cyprus at the Venice Biennale. He presented his work in a number of solo and group exhibitions, including the 2nd Biennale of Young Artists from the European Mediterranean Countries (Thessaloniki, 1986), the Biennale d' Arte Emergente (Siena, 1994), Cyprus, from Neolithic to Theodolos Gregorios (Louvre Museum, Paris 2008-2009), So Close Yet So Far Away (Museum Patah Tikva Israel, 2017), So Close Yet So Far Away (Museum Patah Tikva Israel, 2017). International Art Exhibition Hainan, China (2021) etc. He lives and works between Cyprus and Paris.
