Μάρκος ΜέσκοςΤο έργο του Μάρκου Μέσκου, ζωγραφικό, αποτυπώνει υπαίθρια τοπία, τα οποία χαρακτηρίζονται από μια ρομαντική, λυρική διάθεση. Πρόκειται για περιοχές που μεταφέρουν το προσωπικό του βίωμα, το οποίο έρχεται σε ευθεία αντιστοιχία με ψυχικές και συναισθηματικές καταστάσεις. Η χρωματική αρμονία δημιουργεί μια έκδηλη ποιητική διάθεση σε μια προσπάθεια απόδοσης της φυσικής ατμόσφαιρας. Το έργο του συχνά αποπειράται να εικονοποιήσει τον ποιητικό του λόγο.
Markos Meskos was born in 1935 in Edessa, Greece. He studied in the Department of Graphic Arts and Decoration at the Athens Technological Institute (1965-1968). He worked as a graphic designer and art director in advertising agencies and also as an editor for various publications. Primarily, he was involved in poetry and literature, and his poetic recognition was sealed with numerous awards, including the 1996 award from the magazine "Diavazo," the 2005 Cavafy Award, the 2006 award from the Kostas and Eleni Ouranis Foundation of the Academy of Athens, the 2013 State Poetry Award, and more.
In the last years of his life, he turned to painting, primarily creating landscapes. He also illustrated his own poetry collections and the works of other poets. He passed away in Thessaloniki in 2019.
