Kostas Tsolis was born in 1964 in Athens. He studied painting at the School of Fine Arts of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) under the guidance of V. Dimitreas. He was a member of the art group "Katalipsi" (1986-1990) and has been part of the Special Laboratory Teaching Staff at the Athens School of Fine Arts (ASFA) since 2003.
His multifaceted body of artwork includes painting compositions, collages, books, sculptural objects, overpainted prints, videos, and installations. His early artistic period consisted of drawings, paintings, and sculptures within the realm of abstract expressionism. Later, using photographs from archival material as a starting point, he created wall compositions. In these artworks, he incorporated different materials, and the resulting images from these sources are destroyed, transformed, and deconstructed, often overlaid with horizontal or vertical lines.
