Born in October 1, 1900 (the town of Lebedevo, Vilna province), died in December 22, 1937. He was a painter and a graphic artist. From a large peasant family, he spent his youth in Vilna. He studied at the Vilna Belarusian Gymnasium, took painting and drawing lessons at the private art school of B. Tarashkevich. He worked as a newspaper seller and continued his education at the sculpture department of the Vitebsk Art College (1924–1927), at the painting department of the Moscow Vkhutein (1927–1930) with D. N. Kardovsky, S. V. Gerasimov, A. D. Drevin. Lived in Moscow where he created genre compositions, portraits, landscapes. He made creative trips to Belarus (1932, 1937), the Polar Urals (1933, together with the artist L. Solovyov and the architect P. Budo). He spent the winter of 1934 at a meteorological station on the Bolshoy Taganay ridge in the Southern Urals. In 1935 he was sent by MOSSKH to the Zlatoust Metallurgical Plant. He painted portraits of “notable people” of the plant, and commissioned by the Zlatoust Museum, he painted 2 large multi-figure compositions: “Rest of the Red Guards”, “Neumann’s Brigade on the approaches to Zlatoust”. In 1936 he went on a business trip to Altai. Author of paintings: “Street”, “Auto”, “Tea House”, “Avtodor” (all - 1930), “City by the Sea” (1931), “Rider on a White Horse” (1932), “Playing Cards”, “Playing Checkers” (both 1933), “Landscape with a Tree”, “Hunter with Murzilka” (both 1934), “Self-Portrait in Imaginary Old Age” (1935); graphic compositions (ink, pen): “Steam Locomotive” (1930), “Keeping up with the times, on the way of the five-year plans”, “Sea”, “Look, Vanya...”, “Guests” (all - 1931), “The Arrested Man is Taken Away” , “At the Crossing”, “Student of the Pedagogical College” (1932), “Hunter”, “On the Railway. Switchman" (1930s) and others. Since 1924 - participant of exhibitions (1st professional exhibition of the Fine Arts section of the All-Rabis in Kyiv). Member of group “13” (1930–1931), MOSSKH (since 1932). Participated in exhibitions: the anniversary exhibition of the peoples of the USSR (1927), “Socialist construction in Soviet art” (1930–1931), young artists (1931), the autumn exhibition of Moscow painters (1935), young artists for the Komsomol conference of the Dzerzhinsky region (1936) in Moscow; 3rd art exhibition (1929), 5th All-Belarusian art exhibition dedicated to the XV anniversary of the Great October Socialist Revolution (1932), “Artists of the BSSR for XV years” (1934) in Minsk; “Artists of the RSFSR for XV years” in Leningrad and Moscow (1932–1933); traveling exhibition of painting, drawing and graphics by Moscow artists in Kharkov (1932), Soviet art in Konigsberg (1932). He held personal exhibitions in Moscow (1931), Petrikov, Mozir, Minsk (1932), Zlatoust (1935), Ridder (1936).
