Costas Pigadas was born in 1966 in Ioannina. He studied at the École des Beaux-Arts and the École du Louvre (1986-1990). Since 1994 he lives and works in New York. He has exhibited his work regularly since 1990 in solo and group exhibitions in the United States, Canada and Europe. He works primarily in photography and video art, often combining the two genres to create large-scale installations in which the viewer is able to observe a microcosm of moving images. In his most recent works he focuses his interest on bridging the relationship between science and art, especially those relating to the human organism and its vital biological functions. He has also worked in painting and sculpture.
