Από τη σειρά έργων “Sevan Boys”

Το έργο “Sevan Boys” βιντεοσκοπήθηκε τον Αύγουστο του 2006 κατά τη διάρκεια της συμμετοχής των 2 καλλιτέχνιδων στην 5η Μπιενάλε του Gyumri στην Αρμενία. Στα πλαίσια της διοργάνωσης πραγματοποιήθηκε ένα workshop στη Λίμνη Σεβάν, η οποία υπήρξε κατά το παρελθόν τόπος αναψυχής. Στα τέλη της δεκαετίας του ’80 είχε αρχίσει να χτίζεται ένα μεγάλο ξενοδοχειακό συγκρότημα, το οποίο δεν ολοκληρώθηκε ποτέ και εγκαταλείφθηκε λόγω της κατάρρευσης της Σοβιετικής Ένωσης. Εκεί, οι δύο καλλιτέχνιδες παρακολουθούν μια ομάδα μικρών αγοριών να παίζουν. Η Αικατερίνη Γεγησιάν καταγράφει με την κάμερά της την προσπάθεια να επικοινωνήσει με τα μικρά παιδιά και η Λίζη Καλλιγά ακολουθεί με τη δική της κάμερα τη Γεγησιάν. Το βίντεο συνοδεύεται από μια ενότητα 6 φωτογραφιών.

Aikaterini Gegisian (1976)
Born in Thessaloniki in 1976, of Armenian descent, Aikaterini Gegisian completed her undergraduate and postgraduate studies in the United Kingdom (University of Brighton, 2001, and Chelsea College of Art & Design, 2005, respectively). In 2014, she completed her doctoral thesis titled "Essay Film and Space" at the University of Westminster. She has been honoured with numerous awards and distinctions. In 2015, she participated in the 56th Venice Biennale with Armenia's national representation, which included artists from the Armenian diaspora, and the Golden Lion was awarded to the Armenian Pavilion. She lives and works between Greece and the United Kingdom.

Lizzie Calligas (1943)
Lizzie Calligas was born in Athens in 1943. She studied painting and engraving at the Athens School of Fine Arts (A.S.F.A.) under the guidance of professors Dimitris Kokkinidis and Konstantinos Grammatopoulos (1975-1980). Initially, she was involved in engraving, but she later turned to photography, which became one of her primary forms of expression.
